[Seminar] Ministry of the Environment: Trends and Challenges in Earth Observation and Future Policy Directions
Greenhouse Gas Observing Satellite (GOSAT) series
Our company will hold a business seminar. To achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, ensuring the accuracy and transparency of greenhouse gas emissions is a challenge. Japan's GOSAT series of observation satellites has been monitoring carbon dioxide, methane, and other gases for the past 16 years, and this data is utilized for estimating emissions at global and national levels. Soon, we will also start providing data on a satellite data platform. The upcoming GOSAT-GW satellite, scheduled for launch, is expected to offer higher resolution and an increased amount of data, aiming to observe and estimate emissions from regions, cities, and point sources. Currently, we are considering successor satellites for launch in the 2030s based on the space basic plan roadmap, and we are also working to expand the business use of this data. 【Seminar Details】 ■ Date and Time: January 10, 2025 (Friday) 09:30 - 11:30 ■ Venue: JPI Conference Square ■ Speaker: Ministry of the Environment Director of the Climate Change Observation Research Strategy Office, General Affairs Division, Global Environment Bureau Officer in Charge of Emission and Absorption Inventory Calculation Planning, Decarbonization Society Transition Promotion Office Mr. Shohei Okano *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
